About Yen Ching House

Tucked away in the heart of Englewood, Yen Ching House might just be the hidden gem everyone needs to know about. At 625 S Main St, convenience is certainly on the side of this eatery for local residents and those just passing through. Now, let's dive into what makes this spot worth a visit. Yen Ching House brings to life an array of authentic Chinese flavors, and it's all about hitting the right notes with traditional dishes.

The menu can only be described as a culinary adventure through China. Every bite tells a story. There’s the General Tso's chicken that packs a punch with its spicy-sweet glaze. For anyone with a penchant for spice, the Kung Pao Shrimp doesn't disappoint, swimming in a savory sauce peppered with peanuts. And there should be no bypassing the classic beef and broccoli if a bit of comfort is sought in these familiar tastes. Vegetarian? Not a problem. The tofu dishes are both robust and cleverly seasoned.

In this quaint setting, customers often return with smiles broader than when they walked in. The reason? Consistently stellar reviews point to the genuine flavors and welcoming atmosphere. It doesn’t matter if it’s a first-timer or a seasoned regular—each dish steps up to the plate, delivering satisfaction.

A few whispers about the egg drop soup with rave comments how it’s a liquid blanket on a chilly day. Eggrolls make an appearance on almost every table, golden and crisp, leaving patrons craving just one more bite every time.

A quick mention of the service, and there's a trend worth noting. Attentive staff often makes diners feel wonderfully at home, contributing to a warm and inviting dining experience. Many reviews echo this sentiment, highlighting kindness and efficiency as standout points.

With such a perfect blend of location, scrumptious dishes, and glowing reviews, it's easy to see why Yen Ching House is carving out a beloved niche in Englewood. The next time hunger strikes, and a journey to the Far East sounds enticing, perhaps make your way over to this delightful spot and say, "Hello." At Yen Ching House, it's always about the food, the experience, and the memories created one savory bite at a time.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5/5 — Tyler Glover
Massive portions, fresh ingredients, clearly homemade with no shortcuts. This is the old school American-Chinese place you want it to be with the classic dishes: sweet and sour and hot mustard containers (not packets) presented with the appetizers, a hot and sour soup so much better than any in the area, and an extremely friendly staff. If I had a negative, it’s the fried rice, it just felt a little flat compared to everything else… but mixed with the chicken and sauce was still delicious. I don’t live close by but will find reasons to visit here.

Just moved back to the area, returned here today after 11 years and it tasted the exact same as it did when I was a kid! 100/10 ! One of the best Chinese restaurants in Ohio, nothing compares!!!

The quintessential of mom and pop Chinese restaurants. Its been open 23 years and eating here i can see why. The staff is polite and anticipates our needs even when we didn't consider reuqet they refined our order to be more accurate. The food was served fast, very fresh and warm. The portions were generous and prices low. Our first visit left quite the impression!

Yen Ching House is the best place to go for lunch after church. When we visited, my mom had some dietary restrictions, and our waiter showed genuine care and concern, making sure everything would be okay for her! Which we truly appreciated. The only small downside is that they don’t offer fountain drinks, just bottled drinks that you pour over ice yourself. That said, the food and service more than make up for it. This is hands down the best Chinese food in the area. 100% recommend.
